CASE FILE 36 - Light Over Beeston

Mrs Denton was in her bedroom at around 22:35 hrs on 28th March 1992. She just happened to glance out of her bedroom window, and noticed a brilliantly lit shape passing by in the sky, at approximately one third of a mile away.

She opened the bedroom window for a better look. The object was the size of a large aircraft, on a south east heading from Hemlock Stone, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. She saw a side view of the object and described it as a Very large ball of light. She also noticed that the object did not emit any sound, and that there was no wind.

The object was visible for approximately two minutes. Mrs Denton also noticed two people walking down Sidney Road, who had obviously witnessed the lights allso.

Shortly after Mrs DentonÆs sighting, several students were sending up miniature hot air balloons, made from bin liners and firelighters. Mrs Denton read the article in the newspaper about the student prank, and then telephoned me, quite annoyed, because she thought that her sightings had been included in this prank. She pointed out that although she was 88 years old, she wasnÆt senile or blind. I know what I saw. She commented.

On Thursday 23rd April, a small article by Mark Haywood of Mansfield, appeared in the Evening Post, calling for UFO reports. Mrs Denton phoned Mark, and he also went to see her. Mrs Denton telephoned me at the end of May and we had a chat about a radio programme and the UFO phenomena. She wanted some more information, which I sent to her.
